Tree Trimmings Crazy

I felt in love with the Tree Trimmings stamp set this year for Christmas.  I was very ambitious and decided to stamp 2 sheet worth of the ornaments and cutting it out.  It was not a hideous task at all.  I stamped the image at my craft room up stairs and went down stair to the TV room and put a movie on.  Before the movie finishes, I was already done with cutting.  I have definitely improve my cutting skill as I went on cutting more and more.

Worry about Mummy

Mummy is in the hospital again.  This time it is pretty serious.  Since she returned home on the 15 September 2009, she has gone back for 2 minor surgery; the first one was to move to Ventriculoperitoneal shunt to the back on the head and the second surgery was due to some blockage was at the distal end (tummy end).  This time is very serious; she now has some bacteria infection in the water space in the brain and now they have to remove the Ventriculoperitoneal shunt and replace it with an external tube to divert the water out of the system.  Then they have to clear the bacteria then they will put in a new Shunt.

When I heard that news, I was so devastated, haven’t my mummy gone through enough?  Why this has to happen to her?  What has she done to deserve this?  I no longer know what to think anymore and what to expect anymore.

Everyday I tell myself that no news is good news.  Keeping my hope up but today I felt a little lost and not sure what to do anymore.  I want to go home but if I do that then it would alarmed the people around us; people are going to wonder why am I back all of a sudden.  Especially for grandma, I don’t want her to worry about anything hence I am in the dilemma on whether to go or not to go.

All I can do now is pray to God.

Happy Birthday Donna

I know that I have been missing in action in my little crafting world; actual fact is I have been making cards just did not have the time to post it.  Despite these knotty periods, I always find comfort in my little craft space.

Today is my boss’s birthday.  I got this layout from some challenge ages ago, I like this DSP a lot; it makes the card more lively.

I showed it to hubby after I made it, and his response was “this is so your boss”, what he meant was the card is so like her, very elegant.

I really love the “for a friend” stamp set, I have used it in many ways and thinks that it always fitted in no matter what.

Christmas Swap

The Flight Home was not as comfortable, it was a full flight and there were lots of babies crying on board.  It was good to be finally back in Brisbane, life is stating to go back to normal, things at home is more settle down, now that the wedding has come and gone, mummy’s condition is getting better, I guess I have not much to be worrying about for a while.

I was suppose to go to Leah’s Christmas Swap on the 09 October 2009 but because I was still in KL for my wedding holiday therefore I did not make it but I promised her that I will do the swap and give it to her.  This is what I did today to unwind and getting ready to be back to work tomorrow.  :)

Wedding Cupcakes from Big Boys Oven

I knew exactly what I want for the wedding dinner on the 27th September 2009.  I wanted cupcakes; lots and lots of cupcakes.  I have two vendors in mind and along the trail for some funny reason I have a thought that they were related; but they are not, in fact they are two separate styles.  I have been following Delectable and Big Boys Oven website since late last year and I even goggle about them on a regular basis.

Remembered, I went home late July because mummy has taken ill.  This was the time when I first meet with Sidney from Big Boys Oven; Sidney came across very approachable whilst speaking over the phone, he is also very accommodating with the meeting time and venue.

I meet up with Sidney at Starbucks in Kota Damansara; we sat down and had a chat.  I told him what I had in mind and he gave me some ideas.  I decided to go with him because it seems like he knew what I was talking about and I felt like there is a connection there.  Without any hesitation I paid him the deposit and got another task off my list.  Sidney assure me that I will not need to worry about anything on the day as he will come and stack the cupcake up and it will be perfect.

On the 27 Septmeber 2009. Sidney came by at about 5:30pm to set up the cake, i peep at his car and i saw all the beautiful cupcakes at the front seat.  I was so tempted to go and grab one but i was in the mid of my make up hence was not able to go down until later.

I was so happy with the look and the taste of the cupcakes and many guest complimented on the lovely cupcakes.  Thanks sidney.IMG_0224

Wedding Emcee – William Lee

I am so glad that I hired William Lee as my emcee for the wedding dinner at Ritz Carlton. William has assisted me in many ways and I really appreciate his endeavour toward my wedding.

Many people advised that I should just get my friend or cousin to be the emcee and I thought about it and decided to hire one as I want my friends and family to be able to drink and enjoy the night and not have to be worrying about bits and pieces. I emailed Williams at the end of November 2008 and he replied that he was available, without hesitation I booked him for my wedding dinner on the 26 September 2009. I meet up with him during my 2009 Chinese New Year home visit. He definitely impressed me with his presentation. I was wearing short and a simple top and walked into Starbucks and saw him sitting with his Laptop and very well presented.

His look was definitely a very charismatic one and when he spoke; his voice just assured me that I got the right person. He was definitely more organized than I am, he has this scheduled all typed out and what exactly needs to happen at what time. He was also giving us ideas and suggestions and may I say that his ideas and suggestion is so unique and is not some ideas of many wedding.  He also did mentioned some “things” that might happen and how we can overcome it.  I felt so confident and comfortable after our meet up.

When I came back for Mummy’s illness, daddy wanted to meet up with William and Daddy was definitely impressed with him as well. Daddy mentioned that he has the voice and also the look. Most importantly he is well organized and he knows what he is talking about. Due to anxiousness, Daddy and I even meet up with William a few days before the wedding and William was very accommodating and went through with us every detail we had.

On the wedding dinner night; 26 September 2009, I have nothing to worry about as I know that the whole dinner is in safe hand of William.  With all the discussion that we had, I knew that he would make it a very special night for me. Indeed he went above and beyond on the day. He made sure that everything run well and also making sure that me the bride is doing fine; he even make sure that I know how to march in without tripping down in my big bulky gown.

William arrived at about 5pm that evening to coordinate the programs and events for the night. He definitely put in a lot of effort to ensure that everything went as planned; from sound system to every detail.  He even had a march in rehearsal for the parents.  He has done an amazing job.  We don’t think that evening would be so wonderful without his help.

We have received so many compliments about him; some said that he has the voice of an angel and some corporate people said that is been a while since they seen such professional emcee around.  For such wonderful service, we only paid a very reasonable price.  Did I mention that he can speak many languages as well?

Thanks so much William.

Wedding Make Up Artist – Sharon Wei

My wedding Make up Artist is the renowned Sharon Wei from Wedding Isle.  I was very lucky to be able to engage her for our wedding.  I have heard many stories of her turning down wedding as she is fully booked.

I have spoken to her many times over the phone but have not able to meet her in person; every time when I go to her studio I was only able to meet Carmen; her assistant.  Carmen was a really nice person; friendly, helpful and a super lovely girl.  When I went home in July, I meet up with Carmen, we had a chat and I even told her mummy’s condition then, and she was so helpful and even offered her help on anything that is needed for the wedding.  She even prompted me on some wedding things that need sorting out which has helped me to focus.

Managed to meet with Sharon Wei (finally) a week before I return to Australia late August, Sharon was super friendly and helpful.  We chatted for an hour plus on everything under the sun but nothing on the make up and hair do.  Maybe that is how she gets to know her bride and create a connection with them.  Mind you, I did not have any trial session and she has done an excellent job on my wedding day with the make up and hairs do.  Not sure how she does it; to me she was like a fairly that took the fairy wand and voila it was the make up and hair do that my guests complimented on.

On the wedding day; 26 September 2009, Sharon arrived at about 5:30am to start with the make up, as we have already built our little friendship hence I was not as nervous as I thought I would.  We were chatting away like friend and before we know I was ready to put my wedding gown on.  Sharon was very helpful and definitely a calmer for my nervousness that day.

Our Wedding Day 26 Sept 2009

The 26 September 2009 is the day that we have waited for a year; we have planned, organised and preparing ourselves for today.  The debates on which ice sculpture to have, what colour team and even down to which ribbon to use; all is for today and it will be a day that we will always remember.

Our wedding day was indeed a day filled with tears and joy.  I must admit that I was a little upset in the morning to see that all the BEC people dressing mummy up for the church ceremony.  It was really upsetting to know that she could not attend her daughter big day like a normal person.  I know how much my mummy wanted to be able to do everything for me on my big day.  I promised that as long as she don’t give up and work very hard; on the 09.09.10 Sorenson and I will be back to Malaysia to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary with her or even better if she could travel to Australia.  When I told her my proposal, she had a smile on her face and I know that she will not give up.

I will not say much on the whole day as pictures paint a thousand words hence I shall let our photographer Robin Ng’s slideshow tell you our wedding story.
